Still Kickin'
I am still mired in Game of Thrones - finished Book 4 and now about 25% done with Book 5. I think I'll wait to review them together, since they are written in parallel, featuring different characters.
I feel like I've been reading them forever, and really I have. I've read only a few books in between, as noted below, and so far this year I haven't read anything else. I'm taking a break now to read The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey. It's a book club selection, although I didn't attend said book club meeting and just started the book. So I am, as always, one step behind. I could have skipped it and moved on to the next selection, but it's captivated me so far, so I'll finish it.
What is everyone else reading? I'm looking for some good recommendations for when I get out of this Thrones fog.

Oh yes, Game of Thrones is a chore to read...but so good and worth it in the end. Just praying for GRRM not to die before he finishes.
I am really enjoying the Sandman Slim series by Richard Kadrey. It is fast paced, hard-boiled supernatural fiction. They are good, fast reads.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is a good geek/nostalgia type book. A fun memory trip but I thought it was very predictable.
I recently finished 007:Carte Blanche...a non Ian Flemming James Bond book. Decent...if you like JB books.
I just started reading Bourne Objective, but I think it is too close to reading 007. It was tough to just get through the prologue...because one spy novel at a time is usually plenty for me. Might take a break and read another Sandman Slim or maybe Duff McKagen's autobiography (bassist from Guns N' Roses).
I have been meaning to pick up House of Leaves for a while, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
The pile is waiting...need to get reading.
Oh yeah...also recently read Stephen King's Full Dark No Stars. A typical SK short story collection, creepy and disturbing but nothing outstanding to me. Good if you like scary Stephen King (but not too scary because they are short stories).
